  • Scawby Events Team

🎉 What’s On in Scawby? Keep Up to Date with the Events Team! 🎉

The Scawby Events Team is a dedicated, volunteer-led group committed to bringing our local area to life. We organise a vibrant year-round programme of activities for everyone in Scawby, Sturton, Scawby Brook, and Greetwell to enjoy.

Whether you love a lively pie and pea quiz night, getting hands-on at our weekend creative workshops, enjoying a family fun day on the playing field, or sharing a laugh at our Comedy Club, our goal is to build a connected community where everyone feels welcome to make lasting memories with friends and neighbours.

Stay in the Loop! We are continuously adding fresh ideas and new gatherings to our calendar. If you want to be the first to know what is coming up next in the parish, the easiest way to stay informed is to join our mailing list.

We send out a simple, quarterly newsletter so you will never miss out on tickets for your favourite local events—and we promise not to clutter your inbox!

  • Scawby Women’s Institute (WI)

The Scawby Women’s Institute (WI) offers a warm welcome to women of all ages across the parish. A dedicated committee of volunteers runs our vibrant group. We provide a fantastic space to learn new skills, hear from interesting speakers, and build lasting friendships.

We organise a varied monthly programme for our members. Activities range from crafts and cooking to fascinating local talks and social outings. Modern life often leaves us rushing from one thing to the next. The WI gives women a precious opportunity to pause, connect with neighbours, and share a well-earned cup of tea. Whether you are a lifelong resident or new to the village, we would absolutely love you to join us.

  • Scawby Agricultural and Horticultural Society

Established in 1938, the Scawby Agricultural and Horticultural Society (S.A.H.S.) proudly organises our traditional annual village show. This much-loved event gives everyone in the Scawby Parish a chance to compete and showcase their talents, from cooking and crafts to growing beautiful flowers and impressive vegetables.

A dedicated team of volunteers runs the Society. They welcome exhibits from all parish residents, including the children at Scawby Academy.

The S.A.H.S. has hosted over 80 shows, triumphantly returning from the pandemic to hold its 81st event in 2022. This incredible milestone stands as a testament to the volunteers who work hard to keep this tradition alive. While modern life leaves many of us short on time—causing similar village societies to fade away—it remains a truly precious thing to pause for a day, come together, and celebrate our vibrant community. Long may it continue!

The Council works closely with North Lincolnshire Council to represent community interests on planning matters, manage local civic amenities, and support initiatives that maintain and improve the quality of life within the parish.

  • First Aid & Workplace Risk Training

First Aid & Workplace Risk Training | Recommended Local Instructor

The Scawby Events Team is pleased to highlight Sue Smith, our trusted independent training provider for first aid and safety compliance.

If you run a local business, manage a community club, or organise volunteers, keeping certifications up to date can often feel expensive through large national providers. Booking an independent instructor offers a far more cost-effective, personal, and practical solution.

For groups of 4 to 12 people, the most economical approach is to book a flat day rate with an independent trainer:

    • Flexible Locations: Sue can deliver training directly at your premises or host your group locally at Scawby Village Hall.

    • Tailored Learning: Training can be adapted to the specific risks of your workplace, sports club, or community group.

    Available Courses & Certifications

Sue provides fully accredited training across a variety of workplace and community disciplines, including:

    • Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW – 1 Day): Ideal for low-to-medium risk workplaces, community volunteers, and small business staff.

    • First Aid at Work (FAW – 3 Day & Requalification): Comprehensive training for designated workplace first aiders.

    • CPR & Defibrillator (AED) Training: Practical hands-on confidence with resuscitation and automated external defibrillators.

    • Paediatric First Aid: Tailored for early years settings, schools, childminders, and youth sports coaches.

    • Workplace Risk Assessment & Health & Safety: Practical guidance on identifying hazards, managing risk, and maintaining compliance.
