Bringing Us Together

The Scawby Events Team is all about bringing our local area to life. We are a dedicated group of volunteers focused on creating fun, engaging, and memorable experiences that connect friends and neighbours. Whether you are looking to meet new people, get involved, or simply enjoy a great day out, our goal is to build a vibrant, connected community where everyone feels welcome.

History and Origins

Our journey began in August 2012 following the incredible success of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Inspired by the fantastic response from the village and a shared desire to keep that momentum going, the team was officially formed to cultivate community spirit and civic pride. What started as a single weekend of celebration has blossomed into a year-round commitment to enriching parish life.

Growing Our Community

We have recently expanded our calendar to offer an even wider variety of activities throughout the year. It is incredibly important to us that our events cater to everyone across the Scawby parish—including Sturton, Scawby Brook, and Greetwell—while also extending a warm welcome to our wider local communities.

Something for Everyone

To ensure there is something for all ages and interests, we are continuously adding fresh ideas to our programme. Alongside our traditional community gatherings, we now proudly host regular comedy clubs, festive Christmas parties, lively village quizzes, and hands-on creative workshops. Our refreshed lineup is designed with the whole community in mind, providing the perfect excuse to get together, share a laugh, learn a new skill, and make lasting memories.
