There is nothing quite like a room full of people laughing together, and our very first Scawby Comedy Club delivered exactly that! We were absolutely thrilled to bring such a high calibre of stand-up comedy right to our doorstep, giving friends and neighbours a brilliant night out without the need to travel into the city.
Our debut line-up was packed with world-class talent, and they certainly did not disappoint. In case you missed it (or just want to relive the laughs), here is a look back at the phenomenal acts who made our launch night so memorable:
🎤 MC: Paul Grace Guiding us through the night was the ever-humorous Paul Grace. A truly great compere and comedian, Paul set the perfect warm and inviting tone for the evening, keeping the laughs rolling between acts.
🌟 Patrick Monahan With his unique Irish-Iranian-Middlesbrough heritage, Patrick brought an infectious energy and a seriously funny perspective to the stage. As a Fringe legend and TV regular, it was easy to see why Three Weeks described him as “hilarious without being outrageous.”
🌟 Jules O’Brian Brummie-based Jules tackled ageing disgracefully, body hang-ups, and parenting with a razor-sharp wit. Her relatable, chatty style instantly won over the room!
🌟 Stevie Gray Stevie delivered a cheeky, versatile, and high-energy performance that brilliantly mixed jokes, music, and audience participation. His act was an absolute joy—truly “like watching sunshine.”
🌟 Alun Cochrane An award-winning master of observational comedy! You will likely recognise Alun from Mock The Week, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and 8 Out Of 10 Cats. Having such a phenomenal talent headline our first show was something truly special.
