Do you want a fun and rewarding way to give back? We have an exciting programme of village gatherings ahead. The Scawby Events Team needs friendly volunteers to join us as Event Assistants.
You might welcome guests to our September Comedy Club launch. You could lend a hand at our popular community quizzes or weekend creative workshops. We rely on fantastic volunteers to keep the village buzzing!
What Does the Role Involve?
Our Event Assistants sit right at the heart of the action. They ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time. The role focuses on two key areas:
- Stewarding: You play a vital role in running our gatherings smoothly. You will set up the hall before guests arrive. You will also greet people at the door and check tickets. At the end, everyone pitches in for a quick clear-up. During the event, you will co-ordinate responses to live situations. These range from mopping up minor spillages to guiding evacuations. Thankfully, we have never needed to evacuate yet!
- First Aid Cover: Providing peace of mind by acting as a designated first aider for our standard community gatherings.
Who Are We Looking For?
We want approachable, community-minded individuals to help out. Keeping everyone safe remains our top priority. Therefore, we highly value valid first aid certificates, like an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
Do you lack a current certificate? Do not worry! Just bring your passion for helping the community. We will happily arrange and pay for your first aid training

There is absolutely no pressure to commit to every single meeting or weekend. We are simply looking for people willing to help out at a couple of events a year—because many hands make light work! In return, you will get to:
